i removed dirt chunks from their mouths. taught them ring-around-the-rosie. held them when tears streamed down their face. and had to turn around to shed tears of my own when i saw them being beaten with a shoe for having done something wrong.
my swahili is not fluent enough to have made any conversation with them. but perhaps the smiles, hugs, and kisses were a greater glimpse of love to them, even without words.
Lord let these children know Your love in their lifetime.

way to go.. seriously that is quite the hike, and im really proud of you for going and just experiencing that place. you are opening yourself up to wide new perspectives and taking in the [sometimes painful to watch] culture of another country. im reeeeaaallllyyy proud of you. way.
thank you for posting pics as I'm sure that took a while on your dial-up. peace be with you.
WOW what a difference you made in a few of those kids life if only for a day. Moments you won't forget and maybe the children will remember also. I am so proud of you. thanks for the wonderful stories and pics. love and miss you!
It is so good to be "connected" to you and able to know that you are well.
How moving it is to hear about all your experiences and esp. the children in the Orphanage. I feel the pain of their beatings, as you speak. How awful it must have been for those who witnessed the beatings of OUR LORD!!
Keep the pictures and blogs coming. IT is fabulous.
Miss you like crazy, Love you more.
